Career history

Ingrid Wijk (1964) studied Business Economics at the University of Groningen. Between 1986 and 1990  she worked at the University of Groningen and the Dutch Open University in policy advising and management positions. She worked as head of the unit for Strategy and International Affairs (2001 – 2003) and as managing director of the School of Business and Economics (2003 – 2010) at Maastricht University.


In 2010 she was appointed director of the University Library at Maastricht University. Areas of responsibility include (access to) library content, the electronic learning environment and students’ learning spaces, as well as information literacy and research support.


She is active  in different roles in the Dutch Association of Cooperating University Libraries (UKB) Licensing Group and participated in several advisory boards. 

She is member of the board the Academic Heritage Fund Maastricht and the Pierre Kemp foundation and acts in supervisory boards.
