This thesis explores advanced ways to improve drug development and understand disease mechanisms. By combining different types of biological data with cutting-edge imaging techniques, it reveals how diseases affect the body at a molecular level (changes in proteins, fat). A key focus is on using mass spectrometry imaging to map the exactlocation of molecules in tissues, providing new insights into how diseases progress and how drugs work. The research looks at complex conditions like epilepsy and fatty liver disease, identifying changes in the brain and liver that could help improve treatments. It also tests how new drug candidates impact the body, uncovering potential new therapies. By bringing together different types of information, this work offers a more complete view of diseases and drug effects. It highlights innovative tools and approaches that can speed up drug discovery, make treatments more effective, and lead to better healthcare solutions for patients.
