About the event
The UM Education Research Day welcomes UM staff and colleagues from other educational institutions to share their passion and curiosity regarding education research and its relevance for education practice, and for society. It is a space for open communication, curiosity, and reflection, where education research and education practice are seen as two sides of the same coin, or facets of the gem that is meaningful, fun, and effective education.

The event is free of charge for all participants, and is a great opportunity to strengthen connections, deepen understanding, gain inspiration and develop solutions together.

Check out the recap from the previous edition of the event.

What’s in the works for the 2026 edition
During this year's event, we'll be focusing on bringing together our diverse knowledge and expertise to solve wicked problems related to higher education. Whether you are an expert or a beginner in education research, or simply curious to learn more about how education research can benefit your work and vice versa, your perspective will help us all develop awareness of what is at stake and what is needed.

We'll engage in formats such as structured debates, fishbowl discussions, realist utopias, and problem clinics to move beyond information-sharing into genuine intellectual exchange, stress-test ideas, and connect in meaningful ways across silos.
