Your future

Are you interested in pursuing a PhD or doing research in epidemiology? Are you looking to work in health policy, consultancy or pharma? Depending on your bachelor’s, you qualify to become a registered Epidemiologist A.

Most junior epidemiologists find a job in research, teaching, policy making, consultancy, or a combination of such, with many also pursuing a PhD. Some combine epidemiological research with their (para)medical profession. Epidemiologists typically work in a variety of settings, such as:

  • Universities or other research institutes
  • Academic or regional hospitals
  • Public health services
  • Governmental bodies
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Pharmaceutical companies
