Why this programme

Demand for experts in data analytics and AI is growing rapidly. Today's managers should be equipped to oversee increasingly complex activities, whilst simultaneously staying on top of new developments within the fields of data science and AI. A key skill is to translate technological developments into sustainable and responsible business opportunities. This programme teaches you to understand business and technology. It trains you in developing creative solutions based on state-of-the-art data science and AI technology. After the bachelor’s programme in Business Analytics at UM, you will be qualified and prepared for various career trajectories or related master's programmes.

What you’ll actually do

  • You will obtain a solid foundation in mathematics and statistics, computer science and artificial intelligence.
  • You will acquire skills, knowledge and experience in a range of business disciplines including: strategy, organisation, finance, marketing, accounting, operations and economics.
  • You will learn to understand, optimise and address challenges and bottlenecks in cyber security and risk management and the ethical implications of big data.

Building an automated model to evaluate player performance in a digital learning game.
We explore how games can be used in university courses, whether students can be assessed automatically, and if gaming improves learning outcomes.

Bachelor Business engineering project - data visualisation

Exploring how crime relates to house prices in cities. We analyse maps and data to see if areas with more crime have lower housing prices and to spot districts with higher crime potential.

Customer segmentation project BSc Business engineering

Finding the best databases for customer segmentation. We use customer data to identify VIP customers and describe main customer groups through typical “personas.” We also test how results change when adding open data sources.
