10 useful tips and warnings ( download the flyer - PDF)

In case you haven’t found suitable accommodation yet, then we urge you to please arrange this as soon as possible. If you still have not found accommodation before the start of the academic year in September, we’re sorry to have to advise you not to come to Maastricht.

Maastricht Housing: suitable homes for long and short stays

Maastricht Housing is the official housing agency for Maastricht University, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences and the Jan van Eyck Academy. The main objective is to provide mediation between students, the UM Guesthouse, housing corporations, and private landlords and therewith supporting students and official employees in finding qualitative and affordable housing.

Maastricht Housing offers various unfurnished rooms, studios and apartments for students and staff who wish to rent for an indefinite period. These living spaces are owned by private landlords, real estate agents and three Maastricht housing corporations.

Are you looking for furnished housing for a limited period (less than 1 year)? Then you can book a furnished room or studio via the UM Guesthouse reservation system.

Extra accommodation in Maastricht and Sittard

Extra housing units in Maastricht

In order to prevent major problems with student housing in September, the university is working with the municipality to create extra housing units in Maastricht.
Before 1 September 2022, 200 to 300 additional units (modern studios) will be available at the Randwijck location in Maastricht. 300 more will become available until November.

Cozy, affordable and international living in Maastricht
At the Sorbonnelaan in Maastricht you live close to the city centre, Maastricht University and opposite to the UMC+, surrounded by a nice community of international students.

All studios are equipped with a private bathroom and kitchen. If you really want to move into your new home without any worries, you can also opt for fully furnished and upholstered studios. While you can study undisturbed from home, you will find all the necessary amenities nearby. And the various cozy communal areas certainly provide the community feeling.

The practicalities
You can already rent a studio of 16m2 from 427,- ex per month. Most studios are below the rent allowance limit, which means that as a student you get part of your rent back via an allowance from the Dutch government. That's how the prices match. The studios are also larger than rooms in the centre of the city. Combine this with the services of Plaza Resident Services, such as a laundry room, WIFI and maintenance service, and it makes it well worth the price.

There are currently several studios available. For more information and application: Renting at the Sorbonnelaan in Maastricht

Additional student housing in neighbouring municipality of Sittard

Additional student housing is also available in the city of Sittard. For more information and subscribing to their newsletter for updates: Coming soon STAYground | Holland2Stay
