Applying for support
Report the special personal circumstances in good time
Contact your study advisor or a student dean. Do this as quickly as possible, but always within two months of the special personal circumstance occurring.
Together, you will look at how you can minimise the delay as much as possible. We will also examine whether you are elligible to receive support. Remember that you may be asked to provide a doctor's statement, for example.
During the final assessment of the application, we will examine whether you reported the circumstance on time and if you have kept the agreements that you made with the study adviser or student dean.
Submit the application form
At the end of the academic year the study adviser or student dean will determine how much delay you have incurred. The study adviser or student dean will then give you an application form as well. Part of the form needs to be filled out by the study adviser. The other part needs to be filled out by you. You can then submit this form to the Student Services Centre.
You need to submit a separate application for each year that you incur a delay due to special circumstances. This is also the case if a certain situation leads to a delay in two different academic years.
You must submit your application to the Student Services Centre no more than six months after the end of the previous academic year. Therefore always before 1 March following the academic year in which you incurred a delay. You will also need to submit the form before you graduate, because you must be registered as a student when we pay out the amount.
You will receive a reply
You will receive a written answer to your application within eight weeks of submitting it.
