S.J. Borghouts

Scott Borghouts is a doctoral researcher in Consumer Behaviour, jointly enrolled at Maastricht University’s School of Business and Economics (SBE) and Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM). His research focuses on the intention–behaviour gap, with a particular interest in consumer compliance and obligations, combined with paralinguistic cues as indicators of behavioural adherence. He is specifically interested in how perceptions of responsibility and credibility shape decision-making and behaviour.

Scott holds a Master’s degree in Human Decision Science (cum laude) from Maastricht University and a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Economics. Building on this background, he continues to explore topics such as behavioural interventions, and the influence of marketing strategies on consumer decision-making.
