We previously established that reactive astrocytes are highly important for the protection of the brain tissue in ischemic stroke, and neurotrauma, but in some neuropathological contexts, have maladaptive functions. … Most recently, we showed the importance of reactive astrocytes for post-stroke neuronal connectivity.
