Dr Stefan Flagner (S.)
I am a postdoctoral researcher at Maastricht University, specialising in health and environmental economics. My research interests focuses on the financial returns and welfare effects of air pollution and heat stress on health and performance, with particular emphasis on the indoor climate in homes, offices and schools. I have experience with a wide range of methods, including laboratory experiments with human participants, randomised field experiments, and the analysis of large administrative datasets.
During my PhD, I conducted interdisciplinary research and was awarded a joint PhD from the School of Business and Economics and the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences at Maastricht University. My doctoral research examined the effects of indoor air quality on cognitive performance and health among young adults, university students and primary school children.
Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked in the financial sector in Luxembourg and Germany. I also completed a Master’s degree in Sustainable Finance and a second Master’s degree in Occupational Health.
