Prof Dr R.M.J.P. Rikers

Remy Rikers is Full Professor of Professional Learning and Chair of the Department of Educational Research & Development at the School of Business and Economics, Maastricht University.

His research focuses on learning and professional development, with particular interests in expertise development, problem-based learning (PBL), medical education, and the role of artificial intelligence in learning, assessment, and professional decision-making. His work combines insights from cognitive psychology and the learning sciences to better understand how people acquire, apply, and further develop complex knowledge and skills.

Before joining Maastricht University, he was full professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam and Utrecht University
