Pranav Bapat (P.N.)
I am a Scientific IT Engineer specialising in data science, artificial intelligence, and information retrieval. I work on EU-funded projects in the agricultural sector, developing platforms that collaborate and disseminate agricultural knowledge to ensure accessibility for all. My expertise lies in machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), OpenSearch, natural language processing (NLP), and semantic search, with a strong focus on building scalable and efficient architectures for real-world applications.
I hold a Master's degree in Data Science in Decision Making from Maastricht University, a Master’s in Computer Applications, a Bachelor’s in Information Technology, and a Diploma in Cyber Law from the Asian School of Cyber Laws.
My work involves designing and deploying high-performance backend architectures that power AI-driven platforms. This includes distributed systems, cloud-native deployments, authentication and access control mechanisms, containerisation, database replication, backup strategies, and high-availability infrastructure. I ensure that large-scale search and knowledge-sharing systems operate efficiently, leveraging vector-based retrieval, hybrid search techniques, and multilingual NLP models.
I actively contribute to AI research communities, participate in open-source development, and integrate DevOps best practices to optimise deployment pipelines. Currently, I am involved in projects such as EU-FarmBook, OpenAgri, Ambrosia, and BIOFIN, developing robust data infrastructure and AI-powered search platforms that drive agricultural innovation.
