A. Elghafari
I am Research Developer working in the Department of Advanced Computing Sciences (DACS) at Maastricht University, where I work on several projects including icare4cvd. My interests include Natural Language Processing (NLP), Ontology Engineering, machine learning, the integration of LLMs into research workflows, UI and UX designs for data science.
Career history
Before joining Maastricht University, I was a research engineer at Sema4/GeneDx in Connecticut where I worked on developing novel visualization approaches for complex patient data, and developing and deploying ML models to aid in genetic research review. Prior to that I was a Research NLP specialist at Mount Sinai Health System in New York, where I worked on the harmonization of clinical trials and the integration of various open datasets and APIs. I did my Bachelor studies in Computational Linguistics at the University of Tübingen, took graduate courses in Computational Logic at the Technische Universität Dresden, and concluded my Masters in Computer Science at New York University.
