Vivian Salles Vieira Pinto (V.J.)

Vivian J. Salles Vieira Pinto is an educator who serves as an academic docent at Maastricht University (UM) – Private Law Department.

Her academic journey has been marked by a profound commitment to the field of law, culminating in the attainment of a Master's degree in Law from the very institution she now imparts her knowledge. 

Her expertise lies in diverse fields of law, such as property law, tort law, tax law, and contract law, including a specialization in Conflict Resolution and Access to Justice. She is also a member of the Maastricht European Private Law Institute (MEPLI).

Adding to her academic portfolio, Vivian is currently immersed in a significant endeavor that attempts to address critical societal issues —a doctoral research project that delves into the intricate domain of the Rights of Adoptees and Family Privacy.

In her role as an educator, Vivian aims to instill a deep passion for the law in the young minds of law students, molding them into informed and empathetic legal professionals who can navigate the complexities of our ever-evolving legal landscape.
