L. van den Heuvel

Laudy van den Heuvel (Philosophy Department) is a teaching fellow, teaching mostly in the BA programmes of European Studies, Arts & Culture (FASoS) and UCM. She teaches courses related to political philosophy and theory, cultural theory, history/philosophy of science and European history, as well as research and writing skills courses.  

Laudy obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Dutch Language and Culture from Radboud University (NL) and Universiteit Gent (BE) after which she studied Sociology in Brussels (BE). Laudy did her interdisciplinary research master in Lund (SE) in the field of Human Ecology - Culture, Power and Sustainability, where she specialised in the fields of political ecology and political philosophy. 
She was involved in organising the Political Ecologies of the Far-Right (PEFR) conference in Lund in 2019, and has contributed to the book "White Skin, Black Fuel: On the Dangers of Fossil Fascism", on the intersection of the rise of the political far-right and climate change/environmentalism. Her master's thesis was a conceptual analysis in the field of political ecology, addressing (far-right) conceptualisations and ideology.

Her research interests include political ideologies, political philosophy, human-nature relationships, history and philosophy of science and environmentalism.
