Discovering Maastricht University: Open Day recap
Last Saturday’s Bachelor's Open Day saw 3322 prospective students exploring Maastricht University. That’s nine percent more than last year. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the success of the event.
The weather was cloudy but mainly dry, allowing visitors to explore campus facilities comfortably. Once inside, students attended informative sessions on our programmes, admissions and our distinctive Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method, while also getting a taste of student life in Maastricht.
Visitors engaged directly with staff and current students, joining Q&A sessions and connecting with our student ambassadors at the information markets in each building. Workshops, lab visits and guided tours provided even more in-depth insights into the student experience at Maastricht University.
Most attendees were from the Netherlands, with a substantial number from neighbouring Germany and Belgium. This year’s event actually saw an increase in Dutch and Belgian visitors compared to last year.
The Bachelor's Open Day is held twice a year and is geared toward students in the final years of pre-university education (VWO). It’s especially helpful if you’re still unsure about which study programme is the best fit for you.
