Successful two-day (intensive) postgraduate course on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) at Maastricht University
On 28th and 29th June 2019, 23 participants from various countries (ranging from Qatar to Mexico) successfully followed the two-day (intensive) postgraduate course on Health Technology Assessment (HTA). The faculty consisted of Professor Silvia Evers and Professor Manuela Joore of the Maastricht University.
This well evaluated in-depth course provided an overview of the theoretical and practical foundation of HTA, with a focus on trial-based economic evaluation. Major themes during this course were: Framing, Costing, Outcomes assessment and quality of life (QALY), Synthesising cost and effects, and Uncertainty and Reporting. The course was a great combination of lectures, hands-on training, and workshops, and consultations on their own research. And of course also some time for social interaction and a graduation at the end.
