5th CECL Conference, Banks in Europe: Regaining Trust and Securing Continuity
On 3-4 April 2014, Uppsala University (Sweden) will host the fifth CECL conference, titled “Banks in Europe: Regaining Trust and Securing Continuity”. ICGI research fellow Mieke Olaerts will be one of the speakers, discussing the role of non-executive directors in banks on Friday, April 4th.
The banking sector in Europe has undergone dramatic changes during the last couple of years. The financial crisis highlighted the importance of managing risks and of adequate capital in banks. In the aftermath of the crisis, European financial regulation in general, and banking regulation in particular, has developed in an unprecedented pace. The Centre of European Company Law (CECL) has put together a unique set of academics, policy-makers, bankers and practitioners from around Europe to discuss the recent and upcoming regulatory developments in this two-day conference in Uppsala that will prove banking, finance and EU lawyers with the opportunity to gain new insights into one of the most topical legal matters of these times.
