Joey van de Pasch (J.J.G.H.M.)
Joey van de Pasch is the coordinator for the master’s programme Tax and Technology and a lecturer within the field of Computational Science of Taxation at Maastricht University, the Netherlands. The master’s programme puts students at the cutting edge of the technological revolution in tax law. It dives into the core question: how can computational models, including artificial intelligence and natural language processing, help us understand and improve the increasingly complex tax system? Students will learn to build bridges between tax law and technology, gaining the tools to design innovative solutions that work in real-world, multidisciplinary settings.
Outside academia, Joey works at De Nederlandsche Bank (Central Bank of the Netherlands) as senior advisor artificial intelligence. He served as a chair of the Innov8 Large Language Model working group of the European Central Bank. Before joining De Nederlandsche Bank, Joey worked at PwC developing strategies and development plans to advance the tax business with Artificial Intelligence, RPA and Data Visualization - both in the MiddleEast region as well as in the European and Global network.
