Wynand Wijnen Education Prize for Oscar van den Wijngaard
This year, the Wynand Wijnen Education Prize was awarded to Oscar van den Wijngaard, Education Development Officer at EDLAB. Oscar is renowned for his innovative approach to education and his commitment to student support and academic development. His work in Academic Advising, student engagement, and the integration of research and education has had a lasting impact on both students and faculty within the UM community. His vision and dedication make him an inspiration to many.
Dissertation Prize for Giulia Giardi
In addition to the Wynand Wijnen Education Prize, the annual Dissertation Prize was also awarded. This year’s recipient was Giulia Giardi from the Faculty of Law for her outstanding thesis: "Illegal Waste Management Activity in the Process of Bunker Fuel Production."
Her research sheds new light on the legal and environmental challenges within the waste management sector, contributing to a deeper understanding of regulation and sustainability in this complex field.
