Olympic gold for UM alumna

UM alumna Maaike Head and her teammate Ilse Paulis won a gold Olympic medal in the women’s double scull rowing. The pair raced to victory in the finals in Rio de Janeiro, leaving their competition far behind. You can watch an interview with the duo on NOS.nl (in Dutch).

Maaike Head (32) got her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences at UM, after which she went on to study Medicine at Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
