Launch of our fully revised Certificate Courses
We are excited to announce the launch of our fully revised Certificate Courses in Health Professions Education, starting August 2025. Designed for professionals with a bachelor’s or master’s degree, these courses offer you the opportunity to deepen your insight into key educational topics. Each track is crafted to provide evidence-based strategies that you can immediately apply in your own work context. In the first run (mid-August to early December), you can choose from tracks such as:
- From task to training: Mastering instructional design for complex skills
- From Theory to Practice: Applying Educational Theory for Transformative Learning
- Designing Change: Innovating Curricula for Modern Health Education
- Beyond the Score: Analyzing Assessment to Enhance Learning Outcomes
- From Questions to Evidence: Research in Health Professions Education
The second run (mid-October to late February) offers a different selection:
- Designing Change: Innovating Curricula for Modern Health Education
- Assessing Impact: Critically Evaluating Assessment in Health Education
- Educational Leadership: Shaping the Future of Health Professions Through Innovation
- From Questions to Evidence: Research in Health Professions Education
In both runs, you can select one or more tracks to align with your personal career challenges and interests. Participants have the option to enroll in one track (completing one learning task per period of about 8 weeks, totaling two learning tasks) or two tracks (two learning tasks per period of about 8 weeks, totaling four learning tasks). Each track is valued at 4 ECTS (for two tasks; equivalent to 112 study hours) and offers personalized guidance from a dedicated Certificate Courses Coordinator. This flexible and online format is designed to integrate seamlessly with your professional schedule, providing you with practical experience and the opportunity to prepare for the Master of Health Professions Education program.
The total fee is set at €2000 for those taking one track and €2500 for those taking two tracks. In addition to the comprehensive course content, students benefit from tailor-made advice on study progression, access to the latest online learning tools and the Maastricht University library, and the opportunity to be exempted from equivalent sections of the MHPE upon enrollment. We look forward to welcoming you to a program that is as dynamic as it is rigorous, and that will empower you to lead change in the field of health professions education.
