ECL ECToH Young Professional Award for Gera Nagelhout
On 22 March Gera Nagelhout received the ECL ECToH Young Professional Award. With this award the association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) recognises and supports young professionals who have advanced tobacco control in areas of research, advocacy, policy and practice.
Gera was chosen as winner of the award because of her excellent research on socioeconomic differences in smoking and her knowledge-transfer efforts to translate tobacco control research to practice.
The award was granted at the 7th European Conference on Tobacco or Health (ECTOH), which was held 22-25 March 2017 in Porto, Portugal.
Gera works as postdoc researcher at the Department of Health Promotion and the Department of Family Medicine and her research is embedded in the research line Promoting Health & Personalised Care.
