The Femcure is an observational multicentre study were the effectiveness of two antibiotics (azithromycin and doxycycline) was assessed for genital and rectal chlamydia trachomatis infections funded by ZonMw. For women virtually no data is available for rectal chlamydia infections. Results from the study showed that the current antibiotic policy is not sufficient in eliminating chlamydia infections in all women.
