Mr L.H.M.E. Hoeben - Kuil
Lyra Hoeben-Kuil is a PhD researcher at the Law & Tech Lab, where she focuses on access to justice within the broader field of empirical legal studies. Her research explores the intersection of law and technology, with particular attention to how digital tools powered by AI can support or hinder legal accessibility.
Lyra holds both a bachelor's degree (summa cum laude, honours) and a master's degree (cum laude) in law from Maastricht University. Alongside her academic work, she gained practical legal experience through internships and positions at several leading law firms, primarily in the areas of commercial law and Supreme Court litigation.
She currently teaches courses in insolvency law, corporate law, and property law within the Dutch-language bachelor’s programme. Lyra is also an active contributor to the international academic community, regularly presenting her work at conferences such as ICAIL, JURIX and ESELS.
