INKOM Turns Green
Our Green Office stand at INKOM was a great success, much more than we expected! The sunny weather, amazing atmosphere and help from our volunteers Lara and Ben made it easy to meet lots of new students who showed real interest in the Green Office. Many signed up to get involved in our projects such as the Community Garden, and we even found volunteers for the Green Teams; almost every faculty now has new people interested to get on board. It was the perfect start to the academic year, and we’re excited to welcome all the new members into our community.
Welcoming Students at INKOM 2025
The Green Office was pleased to participate in INKOM 2025, where more than 200 visitors stopped by our stand to learn about sustainability initiatives at Maastricht University. We were delighted to welcome both new and returning students, share information about our projects, and distribute some gorgeous merchandise.
What the Green Office Does
For those new to UM, the Green Office is the university’s platform for student driven sustainability initiatives. We work to engage the community in meaningful ways, including hosting thrift markets, organising Sustainability Days, and coordinating the Sustainability Hub, where a variety of organisations host events and workshops. Our goal is to create accessible opportunities for students and staff to become involved in shaping a greener, more responsible university.
More Fun, More Green, More Community
This year, we look forward to strengthening the Green Network across the university community and keep hosting fun events for the community. Our first major event of the academic year will take place on 26 September so please stay tuned for more details coming soon.
