Your future

Global Studies was designed from scratch to be a fully interdisciplinary programme, with opportunities to learn about the theories and assumptions of individual disciplines, how to integrate insights from different disciplines, and to practice applying the insights of multiple disciplines to complex, global problems. Throughout your study, you will learn valuable research methods and professional skills, you will receive two years of language training, and an opportunity to practice global citizenship skills through interaction in an international classroom and during a field study. As a result, you will be well-placed to pursue a career path that allows you to contribute to solving important societal challenges across a range of institutional and geographical settings.

Given the interdisciplinary nature of the Global Studies programme, you will have a strong academic foundation to pursue a variety of Master's programmes in The Netherlands and around the world.

With a bachelor's of science degree in Global Studies you can be admitted to the MA Globalisation and Development Studies at Maastricht University without having to fulfil additional requirements as this programme continues directly on from themes and skills within Global Studies. Other Maastricht University programmes offer direct admission for BSc Global Studies graduates as well, including the MSc Public Policy and Human Development.
