Catarina Marques dos Santos (C.)
Dr. Catarina Marques dos Santos is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Organization, Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. Catarina received her PhD in Human Resources Management and Development from the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience at Maastricht University and ISCTE-IUL (Portugal). She studied Social and Organizational Psychology at ISCTE-IUL and at Leiden University (the Netherlands).
Catarina´s expertise lies in the fields of organizational behaviour/psychology and management, namely on team dynamics, cognition, learning, and leadership. Her research mainly focuses on the team level, but she also conducts research at the individual-level, namely on safety training transfer. Her research has been published in top journals such as The Leadership Quarterly, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Business Research, European Management Journal, and Journal of Occupational Health Psychology.
Catarina has taught and coordinated courses at the BSc and MSc levels, such as Organizational Behavior, Leadership, Teamwork, and Conflict Management. Currently, she coordinates the course Crisis Management in Organizations. Catarina has also taught at the MBA Programme Understanding the Business. In addition, she has supervised theses and projects at all levels (BSc, MSc, Ph.D., and MBA).
In 2019, Catarina won a prestigious international grant in a competitive application process – the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. This grant awarded by the European Commission allows her to focus her research on a contemporary topic in the management field, namely the development of team mental models in different types of teams.

Catarina research interests include temporal and team dynamics, team cognition, team learning, and team leadership. Her research has been published in journals such as The Leadership Quarterly, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, and European Management Journal. Catarina serves as ad-hoc reviewer on different journals and conferences, such as Group & Organizational Management, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, Academy of Management Conference, and INGRoup Conference.
