Bas has a master's degree in Evidence Based Innovation in Teaching and a master's degree in Dutch. He worked for Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) for four years as a junior researcher and prior to that for more than ten years as a teacher and mentor in senior secondary vocational education. He has also done additional training including the post-HBO course Coach Practioner at Alba Academy.
