Dr Vanessa LaPointe (V.L.S.)
Vanessa LaPointe studied Biomedical Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University (USA). She did her doctoral research with Professor Molly Stevens at Imperial College London (UK), and received her PhD in 2013 on cell-substrate interactions in stem cell self-renewal and differentiation. As a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Twente (The Netherlands), she was awarded a fellowship from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
In 2014, Dr LaPointe joined the MERLN Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine at Maastricht University. Her research aims to understand how to better influence (stem) cell fate with the goal of improving regenerative medicine therapies.
