The University Library: your home away from home

UB

For many UM students, Maastricht University Library is their ‘home away from home’. Particularly during exam weeks, when the library offers extra-long opening hours, many students spend a great deal of time there.

The library provides a comfortable and well-equipped study environment with:

  • 3,000 state-of-the-art study places, divided over 7 locations. Here, you find different study places to fit your needs: quiet study rooms, individual study places and group rooms. Find your ideal study place on Hours, locations and study places - Maastricht University Library
  • Digital Labs like the DIY Video Studio, the DIYPodcast Studio, the Makerspace or the Vesalius Room. Want to record a video or podcast on another location? Borrow the smartphone- or podcast kit!
  • Information desks in both the Inner City Library and Randwyck Library. Our staff is available to answer any question you may have about studying at our locations, the collections and borrowing (e-)books.
  • Workshops and courses to grow your study and research skills
  • ICT service at the Inner City Library and Randwyck Library, as well as IT facilities like printers, scanners and copiers.
  • Wellbeing areas where you can take a break to re-energise and get inspired.
  • Cafés with fresh sandwiches, snacks, coffee, tea and soft drinks.
  • And, of course, all the (e-)books, journals, databases and other materials you need for your studies!

The University Library also offers a wide range of online resources and online services on umlib.nl. On the Visit and Study portal, you will find general information about visiting one of the University Library locations and all services available to you as a student.
