University College Maastricht (UCM) is a bachelor’s programme for students that are highly motivated and looking for a programme that gives the freedom to pursue their own interests. Stichting Kannunik Salden/Nieuwenhof offers one scholarship to a bachelor applicant to enable local students to study at University College Maastricht (UCM). The scholarship is specifically meant for students who have a socio-economic status that makes it difficult to study at a programme that asks a higher tuition fee, such as UCM.

Who is eligible?
All candidates must meet the following requirements:
- You are accepted into the Liberal Arts & Sciences programme of UCM for the September intake
- You are born and raised in Maastricht
- You have an average VWO grade of 7,5 or higher
- You can prove you have limited financial means by providing a tax return (of your parents)
- You are not a current student at UCM
Duration of the Maastricht Scholarship by Stichting Kannunik Salden/Nieuwenhof
The Maastricht Scholarship by Stichting Kannunik Salden/Nieuwenhof is awarded for the duration of the Bachelor’s programme, with a maximum of 36 months.
Amount of the Maastricht Scholarship by Stichting Kannunik Salden/Nieuwenhof 2022/23
The Maastricht Scholarship by Stichting Kannunik Salden/Nieuwehof consists of three years of tuition fee, paid in full by Stichting Kannunik Salden/Nieuwenhof.

Applications will be open in October 2021.
Application procedure
Step 1: Register for the Bachelor’s programme Liberal Arts & Sciences at UCM via Studielink
Step2: Upload the following documents in the category ‘Apply for Scholarship’ in MyUM simultaneously:
- A filled out application form (application form will open in October 2021)
- Official documentation of financial situation, such as recent (parental) tax return and/or a copy of last pay check(s)

Please note: Scholarship applications received by email will not be taken into consideration.
Selection procedure
Step 1: UCM checks that all applications are complete in March 2022.
Step 2: UCM will do a competitive and excellence-bases assessment of the complete applications in March/April 2022.
Step 3: UCM will inform all applicants of the outcome in May/June 2022.
