Sense the Science @ FSE
Do you know what your neighbour at FSE does? Probably, but do you know anything about the researcher at the end of the hallway, on the other floors of your building, or even in other locations at Maastricht, Venlo, Sittard-Geleen, and Heerlen?
Since its start in 2018, our faculty has expanded so rapidly that it is nearly impossible to keep up with all the scientific work we do. In this series of articles, titled Sense the Science, we will update you every two weeks with the story of a research study involving an FSE scientist or student.
We kick off with a story about swimming lions, vultures, and wolves. They are the domain of biologist Christopher O’Bryan from System Earth Science in Venlo. The second story is about wastewater-purifying microorganisms, which are part of Sebastián Ayala Ruano's master's thesis research project in Systems Biology.
Take your time and read about your colleagues' work once every two weeks! We'll keep you updated on new stories via social media and Umployee. If you have an interesting topic, please contact us. What's left is a teaser for the next time, when we'll delve into the conspiracy theories that always pop-up during epidemics.
