Professional career history
Sascha Hardt defended his PhD Thesis on Parliamentary Immunity in several different member states of the European Union and the European Parliament in 2013. He is a fellow of the Montesquieu Institute. His research in the area of comparative constitutional law and the interrelation between political processes and developments in constitutional law. Since 2018, he works on a research project entitled "Protecting the liberal constitution in a populist age" that is funded by the Statesman Thorbecke Fund. He also acts as the project coordinator of LEAP (Legal education, Ethics, and Professionalism), a project (2019-2021) in cooperation with the faculty of law at Universitas Airlangga (Surabaya) and five other law schools in easters Indonesia under Nuffic's Orange Knowledge Programme to strengthen legal education in Indonesia.
