Mr Simone Gavazzi (S.)

Simone Gavazzi is a teaching fellow in the Philosophy Department at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS).

While pursuing my academic career, I am also an active journalist covering topics related to migration and the Middle East, with a particular focus on Kurdistan. I completed my BA at Maastricht University and I obtained my MA at the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice and Lund University in Sweden, where I specialized in international human rights law and migration law.

My research interests lie in the study of migration pathways, especially from Southwest Asia (middle east) to Europe. In previous research at the NCCR (University of Neuchâtel), I examined the perception of “crisis” surrounding migration at the Franco-British border, exploring how political narratives shape public understanding of migratory movements.

Beyond academia, I produce documentary films that aim to capture the realities of the places I visit and communicate them to broader, non-academic audiences, combining storytelling with a focus on lived experiences.
