Paula Lozada Alfaro (P.J.)
Paula is a lecturer and PhD candidate at the foundations of law department of Maastricht University. She teaches law and foundations of law as part of the Dutch program, as well as at the European Law School (ELS). Paula has a background in Dutch law (Honours College Utrecht Law College), International and European law (LLM, VU Amsterdam), and Philosophy of Law and Governance (Master of Arts). As a researcher, Paula is affiliated with The Maastricht Centre for Law & Jurisprudence (MCLJ). Inspired by indigenous conceptualizations of nature, phenomenology and posthumanism, Paula searches for alternative frameworks to legally establish and manage human relationships with our natural environment, studying the legal concepts of legal personhood and property from the perspective of Amazon rainforest in Peru.
