Sustainability in Action: March Highlights at UM
Throughout March, from community moments to hands-on initiatives, sustainability has been in action across Maastricht University. Here’s a quick recap🌱
Vote & Hang Out
On the 18th of March, we started by encouraging students to take part in the municipal elections because sustainability also means shaping the future of our cities. After casting their votes, participants gathered for a relaxed picnic in the park, creating a space to connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate active citizenship in a simple but powerful way.
Bike Repair Workshop
On March 25, sustainable mobility took center stage during our Bike Repair Workshop, where students could bring their bikes to be repaired for free. This hands-on initiative not only extended the life of bikes but also made it easier for students to choose eco-friendly transportation. Helping remove barriers and making sustainability practical and accessible for everyone.
Green Teams Networking Session
We wrapped up with a special networking session bringing together members of the Green Teams to celebrate the completion of the Sustainability Days planning. It was a moment to reflect on the work done, strengthen connections across teams, and build energy for what’s coming next.
Together, these moments reflect what sustainability looks like at UM: action, connection, and community
