Health check (tuberculosis screening)
Depending on your nationality, one of the requirements for obtaining a Dutch residence permit is agreeing to undergo a tuberculosis (TB) health check and, if necessary, receive treatment. By applying for a residence permit, you consent to this requirement.
Timing
- The TB health check takes place after your arrival in the Netherlands;
- The health check is conducted at the Public Health Services Office (GGD) in Roermond;
- You will receive your residence permit before the health check, on the condition that you complete it within 3 months of receiving your permit;
- If you do not undergo the health check within this period, your residence permit may be revoked.
Exemptions
You are not required to undergo the TB health check if:
- You hold the nationality of one of the countries listed here.
- You hold a long-term residence permit in an EU/EEA member state or Switzerland
