Salzburg Maastricht University Seminar in Economic Evaluation in Healthcare - April 2026

The Care and Public Health Research Institute (CAPHRI), The Asssociation of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) and The Open Medical Institute (OMI) have joined forces to build a Public Health Academy. Within this partnership several seminars are offered to CAPHRI PhD candidates. From Sunday, April 26 - Saturday, May 2 2026 the seminar ' Economic Evaluation in Healthcare’ will take place.

Outline seminar

This is a one-week seminar for healthcare researchers and healthcare professionals who want to understand the basics of economic evaluation and its application to health technology assessment and decision-making. Economic evaluation tools are largely accepted as indispensable instruments in the evaluation of healthcare goods, services, policy and system reforms. These tools are of critical importance in decision-making for developing evidence-informed policies pertaining to all aspects of resource allocation. Such tools provide insights on how to improve efficiency and how to protect the quality and equity of both healthcare financing and provision.

Location
The seminar will take place at the Open Medical Institute, Schloss Arenberg, Salzburg, Austria. The seminar is open to 8 CAPHRI PhD candidates (first come, first serve).

Fee
€300. Including dinners and hotel accommodation. For your travel expenses, there will be a reimbursement up to €200 (after submission of original receipts).
