A Year of Growing Connections and Impact
This year Green Office is working to spread the word about sustainability among UM students, welcome new motivated members, and create a strong community within the Green Network. From in-person and online promotion to hosting community events, we want to reach students wherever they are.
Spreading the word
Our goal for the beginning of this year was clear and simple: to welcome new students, raise awareness of our cause, and encourage them to get involved. Preparation for this began already at the end of the last academic year, to ensure that the Green Office was well prepared to participate in INKOM and Introduction Days in August. We also put a strong emphasis on promoting the whole Green Network community rather than Green Office alone. Since Green Network brings together different organisations that focus on different societal and environmental aspects, we wanted to help students discover the cause that resonates the most with them, whether it is sustainability, women’s rights, or fair treatment.
During INKOM and Introduction Days, we connected with many new students and introduced them to our mission. The response was very encouraging, with many students showing a genuine interest in joining and actively contributing to our community. We further built on this momentum by organising a Meet & Connect event at the Sustainability Hub, where we introduced Green Office, Green Teams, and Green Network organisations (also known as Hub Organisations). We started with a short presentation followed by a relaxed networking session where participants could get to know each other better and share their thoughts.
Looking ahead
We do not want to stop here! Our goals for this year are to build strong Green Teams across the university, reach and interest more people with our mission, and further strengthen the Green Network community. We believe that together we can drive lasting change. We are continuing this academic year with new ideas and great energy.
