Launch of the project PAX - Private International Law in Motion
The project PAX – Private International Law in Motion was launched on November 1st 2020 with the participation of M-EPLI.
The project is funded by the Civil Justice Programme of the European Commission for a duration of two years and has the objective of familiarising future practitioners and judges with EU Private International Law.
The project has two components, on the one hand, it provides judicial training in the field of Private International Law. The other component of the project is the PAX Moot Competition, which is a specialized moot court competition focused on Transnational Law and Private International Law issues. The team representing Maastricht University in the first year of participation achieved excellent results, and advanced to the semi-finals.
The project creates a consortium between the University of Antwerp (the project’s coordinator), Maastricht University, the Asser Institute, ESADE, the University of Ljubljana, Paris Dauphine University and Sofia University. The project members on behalf of Maastricht University and M-EPLI are Remco van Rhee and Bas van Zelst, with Diana Schabregs for financial aspects and assisted by M-EPLI intern Laura Zsarnai. M-EPLI Co-Director Marta Pertegás Sender is the main project coordinator on behalf of the University of Antwerp.
