Gijs Goossens receives Senior Fellowship from the Dutch Diabetes Research Foundation
Gijs Goossens (Department of Human Biology) has been awarded the prestigious Senior Fellowship 2015 from the Dutch Diabetes Research Foundation for the project 'Intermittent hypoxia exposure: a novel strategy to improve insulin sensitivity in humans'.
This personal grant will enable him to investigate the effects of moderate intermittent hypoxia exposure on peripheral, hepatic and adipose tissue insulin sensitivity, using a combination of detailed human in vivo studies and mechanistic cell culture experiments.
