A. Mathew

Dr Anjusha Mathew is an assistant professor and principal investigator at the Maastricht MultiModal Molecular Imaging Institute (M4i), part of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (FHML) in Maastricht University.  

 

She obtained her Bachelor of Technology degree in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation from the College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram, University of Kerala, India (2012-'16) by securing second rank in the university. She graduated with a Master of Technology degree in Earth System Sciences from Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, India (2016-'18) earning first rank. In 2018 she moved from India to Maastricht (M4i), where she completed her PhD in biomolecular mass spectrometry instrumentation in 2023. She was offered a tenure-track Assistant Professor position (U.Maastricht) in early 2024 followed by a short post-doctoral research, to extend her expertise in MS-instrumentation/methodologies to EM and its integration. In less than one year of  her tenure-track appointment, she was offered the permanent position. 

 

Currently, she leads a research program in “analytical instrumentation and methodologies” at M4i bridging MS and EM by supervising several PhDs, postdoc, BTR and MTR students along with her role as a educator. As an educator, she take on multiple roles-lecturer, course coordinator/developer, assessor, mentor, skills trainer, and tutor, across 10+ Bachelor/Master courses per year in multiple faculties (FHML & FSE) at U.Maastricht.
