K. Wessling
Katarina Wessling is a Senior Researcher at Maastricht University´s Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) and the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) in Bonn. Moreover, Katarina is a Research Fellow on Europe at Studio Europa Maastricht, leading the thematic area Sustainability, Prosperity and Cooperation.
Katarina's research integrates perspectives from multiple disciplines and examines how spatial and institutional contexts shape educational and occupational careers, with a focus on school-to-work transitions and mobility. Her works has appeared in leading international journals, including European Sociological Review, Advances in Life Course Research, Journal of Adolescence and Population, Space and Place.
Katarina received her doctoral degree in Sociology (summa cum laude) from the University of Tübingen (2016) and held postdoctoral positions at the Universities of Cologne and Maastricht. She has been Co-PI in the Horizon Europe project Skills2Capabilities and the Eurograduate survey, and PI of the junior research group RISA.
