  • Forming model embryos from stem cells in the lab

    Scientists from the MERLN Institute and the Hubrecht Institute (KNAW) have successfully created in the laboratory embryo-like structures from mouse stem cells. These model embryos resemble natural ones to the extent that, for the first time, they implant into the uterus and initiate pregnancy.

  • Carmen Dirksen managing director CTCM

    As of May 15, 2018, Professor Carmen Dirksen will succeed Dr. Gemma Voss as managing director of the Clinical Trial Center Maastricht B.V. (CTCM). Professor Dirksen, also head of the KEMTA department, has accepted the CTCM directorship temporarily uptill January 1st, 2019.

  • Royal honour for Dr. Sajjad Rahnama'i
