Why are we donating more money for Ukraine than Syria?
With a day of action, TV and radio stations raised money for the victims of the war in Ukraine. Much more money than they collected in 2013, with the campaign for Syria. What makes a relief campaign successful? According to Paul Smeets, professor of Philanthropy, it is important that donors have the idea that help must come immediately. Such is the case with Ukraine. “For many people this feels like a new phenomenon, war in Europe is acute and close.”
