Salzburg Maastricht University Seminar Public Health Strategy - June 2026
The Care and Public Health Research Institute (CAPHRI), The Asssociation of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) and The Open Medical Institute (OMI) have joined forces to build a Public Health Academy. Within this partnership, several seminars are offered to CAPHRI PhD candidates. From Sunday June 28 - Saturday July 4th, 2026 the seminar 'Public Health Strategy' will take place.
Outline seminar
The seminar Pubic Health Strategy includes:
- Seminar on PH in a nutshell with the introduction to PH Law and PH Leadership.
- Advanced Seminar on PH Law
- Advanced Strategy executive seminar for the PH leaders who will work on introducing change and implementation of legal solutions and change in their work context.

Seminar leaders
Prof. Dr. Kasia Czabanowska is a professor of public health leadership and workforce development and a Chair of the Department of International Health, CAPHRI Institute, Maastricht University, the Netherlands.
Dr. Timo Clemens, is an associate professor at the department of International Health, CAPHRI Institute, Maastricht University, the Netherlands.
Scott Burris, JD is Professor of Law and Public Health at Temple University, where he directs the Center for Public Health Law Research.
Location
The seminar will take place at the Open Medical Institute, Schloss Arenberg, Salzburg, Austria. The seminar is open to 8 CAPHRI PhD candidates (first come, firstserve).

Fee
€300. Including dinners and hotel accommodation. For your travel expenses, there will be a reimbursement up to €200 (after submission of original receipts).

This seminar is organised by CAPHRI, in cooperation with ASPHER and OMI.
ASPHER is the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region. The Open Medical Institute (OMI) is an international initiative for medical professionals, which through education and research, aims to improve healthcare on a global scale.
