A new wave of talent emerges from the School of Business and Economics

On Sunday, 30 November 2025, the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) proudly celebrated the achievements of 1,461 graduates: 866 bachelor’s and 595 master’s students. The festive ceremonies at the MECC Maastricht marked a major milestone for the entire SBE community. Across twelve separate ceremonies, graduates walked the stage to receive their well-earned degrees, making it a memorable day for them, their families, and their friends.

Kaj Thomsson, the Director of SBE’s bachelor's programmes, delivered an inspiring message to the graduates during his speech:

“If something comes up that you find really important and would like to take on, if that thing seems hard, and there is uncertainty over the outcome, that might actually be a good thing. Facing challenges and uncertainty can be liberating, because you know that you will fail sometimes  and that might be just what you need to free your mind and live up to your potential.”

Bram Foubert, the Director of SBE's master's programmes, shared his thoughts:

“Our graduation ceremonies are not a farewell. We walk our graduates into their next chapter while hoping they will find their way back to their alma mater.”

Voices from the SBE Graduate Community

Several graduates shared their personal experiences and insights about their time at SBE. Among them was Matteo de Nitto Personè, who recently completed the MSc International Business Organisation: Management, Change and Consultancy programme , and offered a thoughtful reflection on growth, challenge, and transformation during his studies.

“When I started, everything felt unfamiliar and difficult. Now, I feel confident, creative, and prepared for new challenges. School of Business and Economics didn’t just teach me theories, it helped me grow into someone ready for the future.”
