Looking back: science takes centre stage at the City Parade Maastricht

On 13 September, Maastricht University joined the City Parade in Maastricht as part of the ‘Science’ tableau. At a large greenhouse on Mosae Forum, visitors could explore a range of hands-on scientific activities, including the UM Smart Supermarket Lab and experiments by Mad Science. 

At the Smart Supermarket Lab, children and parents discovered how science can help us make healthier and more sustainable food choices – all through fun and interactive challenges. The lab was developed with scientific input from all UM faculties, in collaboration with the FSE Connection Lab. 

Despite the rainy weather, it was a great afternoon, bringing science to life and making it accessible and engaging for visitors of all ages.
