High turnout at Master’s Open Day

Saturday’s Open Day at Maastricht University welcomed over 1400 prospective master’s students who explored programmes, experienced the campus atmosphere and learned about Problem-Based Learning.

Turnout was notably higher than last autumn, with increased attendance from Dutch, Belgian, and German visitors. The weather held steady - overcast but dry - making it easy for visitors to reach the six faculties where workshops, information markets and programme presentations ran throughout the day.

Many visitors connected with current master’s students, gaining valuable insights into both life and studies in Maastricht. Staff were on hand to answer questions about admissions, registration and career paths.

A friendly and informative experience

Quite a few participants took the time to fill out the feedback form, with most praising the welcoming atmosphere, the quality of the information sessions and the interactions with student ambassadors and faculty members.

High marks were given for the knowledge and friendliness of tour guides, as well as the availability of faculty and staff.

Some attendees, however, found the session breaks either too long or too short, while others suggested additional "Make Maastricht Yours" sessions or fewer overlapping presentations. These suggestions will be addressed as the university prepares for the next Master’s Open Day, scheduled for 22 February 2025.
